White Oak Elementary School

All About White Oak Elementary

White Oak Elementary School is one of three elementary schools in the McKeesport Area School District.  In 1950, the current White Oak Elementary School was built for Grades 1 through 6, with ten classrooms and a cafeteria/auditorium room.  Kindergarten was included shortly after.  In 1955, the addition of twelve classrooms was added to the original building.

There are currently four kindergarten classes, four first grade, four second grade, and four third grade classrooms.  Included in the physical structure are Music and Art rooms, a Library, and a Computer Lab with 28 computer systems.  Special Education services are part of the regular program.  White Oak Elementary is a Title I Schoolwide school.

In 1990 and 1998 two more additions were added to the building.  The 1998 addition was a new gymnasium.  At the present time, the school has over 300 students, kindergarten through the third grade.
