Bus transportation to and from school is considered a privilege.  For the sake of safety you can understand the need for proper behavior on a school bus.  The bus driver acts in the capacity of the parent or the teacher while the students are on their way to or from school.  Discipline problems are referred to the building principal by the bus driver, and students who misbehave may lose the privilege; it will then be the responsibility of the parent to transport the child to and from school.
