| Students at Cornell participated in the annual Mega Event. This event included students who sold ten or more fundraiser items. Activities included dancing, hula hoops, musical dots, basketball, etc. |

| October 15, 2008 |
| Grandparents of the 4th grade students were invited to attend a breakfast at the school. Each homeroom created posters for the event. Grandparents were given strategies to help their grandchildren become better readers. |

Week of March 2, 2009 |
| In honor of Dr. Seuss and "Read Across America," students at Cornell Intermediate participated in many exciting activities throughout the week. On Monday, the students read the "Reader's Oath" and the week continued with a theme each day. |

Students at Cornell Intermediate who scored proficient or advanced in Reading and Math were recognized with a breakfast from McDonald's. These students were given a certificate and received a t-shirt at a school-wide assembly on March 12, 2009. |
