McKeesport Area School District Strategic Plan
1999 - 2005

The planning process included four groups, each with specific functions.  The administrative staff served as a Coordinating Committee with responsibilities to guide the planning activities by structuring information which facilitated their participation.  The Coordinating Committee also provided information needed to respond to the participants included existing committees of the professional staff which functioned to develop detailed proposals for selected technical components of the plan.  These existing committees were provided necessary information to address their assignments as well as a set of questions to organize their proposals.  The questions were developed by the Coordinating Committee.  The third group of participants was the Steering Committee, consisting of the seven role groups as identified in Chapter 4.  This committee contributed to the process by reviewing all technical proposals and information included in the plan.  Feedback from the Steering Committee was used to refine the proposals before the plan was presented to the School Board, the final group in this planning process.
