Plans
for the new McKeesport Vocational School were for it to be completed on
June 1, 1940 with an estimated cost of $1,100,000; 55% of the cost was
to be paid by the school district and 45% by the Federal
government. The building length was to be 576 feet with a school
capacity of 840 students. Plans included an auditorium with a
seating capacity of 643 and a gymnasium with folding bleachers that
would seat 2,000. Additional features included accommodating 414
in the cafeteria and a visual education room suitable for motion-sound
pictures with a seating capacity of 64. The library had proper
facilities for reference work in connection with the theoretical and
practical phases of industry, invention, science, English, and social
studies. |
